I live in Algeciras, which is the most important city in the Campo de
Gibraltar and one of the most important in Andalusia. This is located in the
south of Spain, separated from Africa by the Strait of Gibraltar. Algeciras
is among the fifty most populated cities in Spain. It has a population of
over 120.000 people.
The economic engine of the city is its port. It is one of the most
important in Spain and the most important of container traffic. There is an university with a great variety of university studies. The architecture of
the city makes Algeciras a city between the modern and the traditional.
Modern buildings and bridges coexist with traditional neighborhoods. The
parks, "Mª Cristina" and "the cemetery", its churches,
the "Chapel of Our Lady of Europe" and "Our Lady of the
Palma", its squares, "Plaza Alta" , its history, "the the
Merinid Walls and the Baths "," the islamic ferris wheel ",
the bullring of Las Palomas, its monuments, etc.

In general, the climate is mild. The temperatures are mild and it
rains little, although they are usually torrential. The Levante wind is
typical. In this area almost always blows wind and almost always very strong.
The summer is quite hot.
Algeciras is famous for its port, but also, the town has two beautiful
beaches, several natural routes within three natural parks: Los Alcornocales,
El Estrecho and Las Marismas. If you go around the city you can taste great
tapas of meat and fish in its many bars and restaurants.
What I like most about Algeciras is where I live. I live in contact
with nature and a few kilometers from the services of the town. The city is
also near to two privileged areas: Tarifa and the Costa del Sol. Living here,
you can enjoy wonderful beaches, great concerts, wonderful terraces and
summer “chiringuitos”, cosmopolitan atmosphere, good gastronomy, etc.
